1.1 Usage data
We collect anonymous or pseudonymous usage data to help improve app performance and user experience. This may include:
- App interactions (pages visited, features used)

1.2 Account information
If you choose to sign in using Apple or Google, we may collect:
- User ID (unique identifier from your sign-in provider)
- Email address (only when the provider allows it and you grant permission)
1.3 Cloud-synced data
If you enable cloud sync, your app data will be stored securely in the cloud using services such as Firebase / Google Cloud. This data exists only to support syncing across devices and backup functionality.
1.4 Place on a record
If you choose to attach your current place to a record, the app reads your location once while the app is open. It saves a place name and the matching coordinates with that record. The app does not ask for location when it opens, and it does not track your location in the background.
The place name is turned into text using your device’s location service (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android). The saved place is stored with your other records in Firebase / Google Cloud so it can sync to your devices. If you share that record to a notebook, members of the notebook can see the place name and coordinates. You can remove the place from a record before or after saving, and you can turn off location access in your device settings.
We do not sell location data, and we do not use it for advertising.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information only for the following purposes:
- To provide app features such as syncing across devices
- To improve stability, performance, and user experience
- To diagnose crashes, bugs, or technical issues
- To maintain secure login and authentication
- To attach a place name to a record when you choose that option
We do not sell or share your personal data with third-party advertisers.
3. Third-Party Services
The App may use the following third-party services:
- Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics (usage analytics and crash reports)
- Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple
- Cloud Database / Storage Services for syncing user data
4. Data Storage and Security
Your synced data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption provided by third-party cloud providers. If you delete the app, local data is removed from your device. Cloud-synced data may persist unless deleted through the app.
